Outdoor dog toys are made to withstand not only the abuses of the average canine, but also the abuses of weather. These toys are thwarted by rain or a little cold weather. They can be buried in fall and recovered in spring with possibly a bit of faded color, but not much other damage at all. Wear and tear from the dog will destroy these toys before any storm does.
Outdoor dog toys, like any toy, should be replaced when they become damaged. A Frisbee with worn edges can harm a dog’s gums, and a tennis ball that has been popped losses it erratic bounce that dogs love. Most dog toys are made to stand up to higher amounts of abuse that a regular Frisbee or tennis ball, but can still be harmful if damaged.
Outdoor dog toys may be more expensive than a typical dog toy, but they will last even longer making them a wise investment. Once a dog finds a favorite toy it is difficult for them to part with it, even if it is in tatters and shreds. Purchasing long lasting toys will ensure that they do not have to be replaced often even when subject to the torments of mother nature.
