Unlike a standard dog bed, which is usually just an oversized pillow, raised dog beds are definitely luxury items. These beds are usually designed to mimic the look of human furniture, but on a smaller scale. They can even be custom made for that one-of-a-kind look.
Raised dog beds are often placed within the same areas that the dog owner relaxes. Many people find it charming to recreate their own furniture in a small enough size for their pet. Chaise lounges, sofas, and even recliners are not uncommon.
Raised dog beds can also be designed to look like an actual bed. While they can be a bit expensive, Windsor canopy and sleigh beds are sold by a number of manufacturers. These beds are usually constructed from wood and/or wrought iron.
